Animalshine - Previously Ann Flores had only read about the unfortunate dogs whose lives ended up in the shelter, due to their owners giving up nurturing. But this was the first time he witnessed when the owner came to the shelter to hand over his own dog. So pathetic. Moreover Harris County Animal Shelter is a shelter owned by the Texas government that imposed euthanasia for dogs that failed to get home. The government enacted this in order to suppress the growing population of dogs.
Ann, who at that time accompanied her friend to adopt a dog, found a woman in the parking lot was forcing her dog into the shelter. But the black-and-white dog rejected his mother's will, as if knowing his life would end. So he rolled over in the parking lot, insisting that he not be brought in. Ann photographed the moment and sent it to the shelter, which also made every dog get a chance to get a new home.
Luckily, the shelter responded positively to Ann shooting photos and then uploaded on social media, informing him that the conditions were full at the time. If the dog, later named Truman, did not get the house immediately, then within a few days he would be listed on the euthanasia list.
An next, Ann found another woman in the parking lot. It was almost the same, his dog refused to enter the shelter. He pulled the rope around his neck and refused to move. The dog that was named Mandi was not in a healthy condition, he have skin diseased & eye infection. Perhaps that is also one of the reasons the owner did not want to keep bathing. Again, Ann photographed that pitiful moment and sent it to the shelter.
Truman and Bath, are just two of the many dogs that have ever felt happy in the family, but not forever. Many families make shelter as a solution when dogs are troubled, or no longer desirable. As if not aware that the dog considered the family is the most beautiful place for him.
If a dog can love the owner with all his heart, the owner should not have the heart to give up.
